Sky Song
A song
A song echoing through the sky
A performance, which the passers-by
Stop to hear
-
I rise on my wings,
Every beat taking me closer to the glass sky,
The radiant sun which lights all,
And the clouds...ah, the painting above!
-
The endless sea of blue
It fills me with amazement and joy
Bright, limitless, free…
And it makes me want to sing!
-
Sing for awe, at the wondrous beauty
Of the sunlit, windswept expanse
Sing for joy, the joy of flight
The joy and freedom of the air
-
It's like heaven up here!
What I feel, I express in song
My voice sounds out like a pealing bell
Pouring forth in a tune like a river
-
And down below, they look up and smile
"Look!" They call to each other.
"It's an Altaria!"
They laugh, smile, listen in awe
-
I like to see them smile
So I keep singing for them,
Singing of the sky
-
So that these humans,
Wingless and bound to land,
May know and feel that joy—
The joy that the skies give to me.
It was quite a short poem, wasn't it? Well, it was written on the bus. Took me about 10 minutes. I pretty much rushed it.
