Prowess

She was tall and graceful, her hair glimmering like gold spun into pure threads that adorned her head. They framed her sharply featured face, her deep grey gaze, gemstones set into fair skin.

Her slight figure was dressed in a cloak black as night, flowing down close to her feet, like dark curtains that only made her look more deadly as she strode down to the battlefield, casually, as if taking a stroll in the park, the dark dresses swishing at her feet. She seemed oblivious to the roar of fans, her fans, as she took her position.

She turned to the camera and smiled. It was unnerving and enchanting at the same time, that black-and-gold decorated face smiling so collected and steadily as each challenger approached with their hopes held high. But they would all let down their guards when she trained her piercing gaze on each one, all unable to match up to her overwhelming , shining presence in the arena. She seemed as bright as the sun itself.

And to battle her was like battling the sun. They were dazzled, opponent and audience alike, by the way her Pokémon, trained to perfection, could execute moves so smoothly and swiftly, at a level of power that seemed insurmountable.

Each battle was over in minutes. But not one of her opponents was disappointed, nonetheless. It was enough, just seeing her in battle—an honour to battle against her. On almost everyone's minds was the same question—how could anyone be so strong?

As the opponent left the arena in awe, the audiences would roar in approval once more. Then she would simply turn to the camera and smile that mystifying, unnerving smile again, before her next challenger came to face her, doomed before the battle had even begun.
