On request of Randomness from Boredom, I did another poem for MapleStory. It was terribly rushed, because I kept getting distracted, and probably took 20 minutes or so. Hope it's acceptable.
Deeper
Sunlight.
Sun, streaming powerfully
Through the leaves, touching the ground.
It's still bright up here.
-
Deeper down I go, towards my destination
And maybe towards the end
-
I know that I might die on this journey
But I am still going
Just once in my life, I want to see it
The fearsome one of legend
-
It's getting darker here.
The sounds aren't so lively anymore.
The chirping birds are gone
Now, there are only screeches and the sound of insects.
-
Deeper. Towards the centre.
-
No more light now. I am blind here.
I feel the way along the walls of this cave—
They are cold to my touch, and smooth
Showing me the way
Showing me the way to the heart.
-
-
At last, I am here.
It is in this cavern, this secret sanctuary
Hidden deep below the surface
Centuries old
The territory of the infamous legend.
-
There is light again.
Sunlight is filtering through the cracks in the ceiling
Trickling down in steady streams
Falling upon the old cracked stones
On the symbols inscribed in its great tomb.
-
The darkness pulses in its very walls
Powerful, like the beating of a heart
And I feel it.
This is my destination.
-
The heart of the Dungeon.
