When she is seven, Princess Katreia of Cedan is betrothed to the Prince of Kerade, a marriage both kingdoms' queens hope will bring an end to their bitter war. But as she grows up, Katreia finds herself acquiring dreams and desires of her own, all at odds with her looming marriage.
